Annual Privacy Forum 2024 (semi-digital)

(exkl. moms)

Attend the Annual Privacy Forum (APF) 2024 on September 4-5! Co-hosted by ENISA, the European Commission (DG Connect), and Karlstad University, this event connects researchers, industry experts, and policymakers in privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity.

The Annual Privacy Forum (APF) 2024, jointly organized by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), the European Commission (DG Connect), and Karlstad University, intends to bring research and policy practitioners together in the area of privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity, creating in this manner a communication hub for the academia, industry, and policymakers.

This year’s APF, currently in its 12th edition, will take place as a hybrid event at Karlstad University in Sweden. The focus of the conference is on technical and policy solutions that can practically support organisations in meeting data protection obligations, while respecting users’ rights in the online environment. Its mission therefore is to bridge the gap between policy and research in privacy and data protection in Europe.

Co-located to the Annual Privacy Forum, on September 3, the European Data Protection Supervisor and Karlstad University jointly organise a workshop on ”Human oversight of automated decision-making” as part of the Internet Privacy Engineering Network (ipen). Like APF, this event is hybrid, so participation is possible on site or online.

Both events are free to attend, there is no registration fee.

Nevertheless, online registration before August 23 is required via the event website – privacyforum.eu.

By attending you will get in contact with many renowned personalities from the areas of privacy and data protection, such as:

    • Marit Hansen, acting data protection supervisor for Schleswig-Holstein, Germany (ULD)
    • Jaap-Henk Hoepman, Radboud University
