Eric Leijonram is the Director General of the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY), a role he assumed in October 2024. Previously, he served as Chief Legal Counsel at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen). He has experience from judiciary, government ministries, and the correction system, and has led several government inquiries, among them the Biometric inquiry. He was recently appointed by the government to lead the governmental inquiry on background checks, while continuing his role as Director General.
